Page 5 of 5: Walking someone through it

This is the page to reread right before you sit down with someone. Four steps, in order.

The four steps

  1. Become a Member / Sign in. They enter their email (it has to be one linked to a Canadian bank account) and confirm the 4 digit code that arrives.
  2. Claim Your Name. They enter their full name, choose their @name, and decide what the map shares.
  3. Make Your Pledge. They pick Founding ($21) or Lifetime ($210), see the amount and the e-transfer address (give@map.ca), send the transfer from their own bank, then confirm it.
  4. Get Your Certificate. Nothing to click. The certificate flips from Draft to Verified on its own once the transfer lands.

Where your @name goes

On Make Your Pledge, there is a row: "Did a Map Ambassador help you?" That is where they type your @name. Once their membership is verified, that is what pays you.

Turn on Autodeposit

Tell them to turn on Autodeposit at their own bank before they send the transfer. It means their e-transfer lands without a security question, and yours will too when it is your turn to be paid.

Staying in touch

Keep the tab open, or tell them they can open a new tab or check their email. The screen picks up right where they left off. After they join, you get two minutes of questions about what they were hoping for, and they get a short emailed questionnaire too.

The line to remember: "Keep this tab open, turn on Autodeposit, and type my @name at Did a Map Ambassador help you? on Make Your Pledge."

You can come back to any page later. The test is open book.
